Suffragium – Scientific Journal of the Regional Electoral Court of Ceará (TRE-CE)

Suffragium is a semiannual open-access journal, free of charge, dedicated to research in Electoral Law and Political Science. Rated Qualis B1 by CAPES (2021–2024 quadrennial evaluation) — the highest ranking among scientific journals specializing in Electoral Law in Brazil — the journal publishes original works subject to double-blind peer review, with an exogeny requirement for authors.

Its purpose is to foster qualified dialogue between legal scholars and political scientists, contributing to the critical analysis of core issues in Brazilian democracy and the electoral system.

Suffragium operates on a continuous submission basis and is available exclusively in electronic format, accessible directly at suffragium.tre-ce.jus.br.

General submission guidelines for manuscripts eligible for publication in Suffragium are set out in TRE-CE Administrative Order No. 729/2018.


History

Founded on June 27, 2005, by TRE-CE Resolution No. 263, the journal succeeded the former TRE-CE Newsletter. In 2017, its scope was expanded to include Political Science (TRE-CE Resolution No. 660), and in 2023 its editorial structure was further developed by TRE-CE Resolution No. 993, which detailed the responsibilities of editors, the editorial board, the panel of reviewers, and the managing committee.


Editorial Management

The journal is managed by the Center for Advanced Electoral Research and Studies (NEP), affiliated with the Electoral Judicial School of Ceará (EJEC), in partnership with the Editorial Board and the Panel of Reviewers.

Revista Suffragium

A Suffragium é um periódico semestral de acesso livre, voltado à divulgação de estudos originais nas áreas de Direito Eleitoral e Ciência Política. Seu propósito central é promover interlocução qualificada entre essas duas esferas do conhecimento, reunindo análises de juristas e cientistas políticos(as) sobre temas relevantes da conjuntura institucional e democrática brasileira.

O periódico adota fluxo contínuo de submissão, permitindo o recebimento permanente de novos trabalhos. As diretrizes para publicação encontram-se disponíveis na página oficial da revista.

Suffragium – Journal of the Regional Electoral Court of Ceará is a biannual publication, with free and free access to its content, intended for the dissemination of unpublished scientific productions, in the scope of Electoral Law and Political Science, authored or co-authored by professors doctors, respecting the criterion of exogeny and the double blind peer review system.

It appeared as a printed magazine on June 27, 2005, pursuant to Resolution TRE-CE No. 263, dated June 27, 2005, replacing the TRE-CE Newsletter, at the time. After the advent of Resolution TRE-CE No. 660, of April 4, 2017, it was reformulated, transcending the area of ​​Electoral Law, also covering the field of Political Science, in order to establish an effective contact between the two ambiences, bringing to light the contribution of political scientists and jurists regarding the confrontation of current Brazilian issues in the electoral political and legal field.

Currently, the Suffragium magazine is presented in an exclusively electronic format, available through the portal of the Regional Electoral Court of Ceará, in the menu “O TRE/Publicações/Suffragium Revista Eletrônica” or directly on the page http://suffragium.tre-ce. jus.br/suffragium.
