As a rule, all legal, administrative and electoral decisions should be taken based on relevant legal and technical criteria. Furthermore, the appearance of candidates or procedural parties has no value for better judgment. Therefore, there is a need for voters to be indifferent about the appearance of their candidates, as this criterion is not necessary for judging suffrage, much less for the administration of a city, state or country. However, studies show that candidates with better appearances have an electoral advantage over those who do not. This fact derives from the attractiveness bias (Halo Effect or Attractiveness Effect), which is a cognitive error induced by the human mind when assuming that appearance is attributed to positive issues. Thus, this article aims to analyze and systematize the research studies carried out on the impact of the Halo Effect on electoral elections, thus verifying whether it can be an obstacle in the electoral race, through bibliographical research, an exploratory research was approached using the mechanism search engine for scientific articles on Google: Google Scholar.
